What 31,000 Pattern Breaks Taught Us About Classroom Wellbeing

A look back at the 2025/26 school year, and why the numbers behind it matter more than the numbers themselves.

Welcome back to all 500,000+ members of the WOOF community. We hope the summer gave you the break you needed.

There’s something about the start of a school year that never gets old, no matter how many times you’ve lived through it. New lessons, new lesson plans, new faces in the classroom. A reset, every single year.

For us at WOOF, summer is also when we look back at what the last year taught us. And 2025/26 taught us a lot.

The number we live for: 31,000 Pattern Breaks

This year, 31,000 students created a positive Pattern Break in their classroom using WOOF. That’s more than four times what we saw the year before.

Every one of those is a real young learner breaking a negative pattern and creating a better situation for themselves, one with more room to learn and thrive. It’s the number we keep coming back to, not because it’s the biggest one we have, but because it’s the only one that actually describes what WOOF is for.

A community that grew 253%

Our global community grew 253% this school year. More educators and students joined us than ever before for better classroom wellbeing.

That growth means something specific to us. It’s not just a bigger number, it’s more classrooms, more patterns, more chances to understand what actually helps a specific class feel ready to learn. Every new classroom that joins WOOF makes the picture a little clearer for the ones that come after it.

This is exactly why the WOOF Trends report is becoming something we’re investing far more into. Hundreds of thousands of students and teachers are telling us things worth sharing back with the wider community and with the people driving classroom development around the world.

Interventions grew 626%, and teachers are acting faster

We also saw a 626% increase in interventions this year. More teachers are acting on WOOF’s insights and recommendations through WOOF’s courses and activities than ever before.

To us, that number means something concrete: we’re getting better at helping teachers catch a hard moment with a student before it slips by and festers. That’s the whole premise behind Pattern Breaks. Wellbeing isn’t a switch you flip. It’s more like fitness or sleep: small, consistent changes that build on each other, and technology only helps if it makes those small changes easier to catch and act on in time.

New partnerships across the Nordics

This year we also formed a new partnership with Implement Consulting Group and NE (Nationalencyklopedin), joining forces to push for more classroom wellbeing across the European Nordics. It’s a partnership we’re genuinely excited to build on, and one that reflects a bigger pattern we’re seeing: the people working on classroom wellbeing, from school leaders to researchers to consultancies, are increasingly looking for the same thing we are, a way to see what’s actually happening in a classroom, not just guess at it.

As Mathias Probst, founder and CEO of WOOF, put it: “Implement’s expertise in large-scale public sector transformation and our data on classroom wellbeing turned out to have more in common than we expected. Together, we’re helping schools turn insight into something they can actually act on.”

None of this works without you

This only works because of the people doing the actual work. That’s part of why we keep learning every year, not just building a better classroom wellbeing product, but continuously getting better at helping school professionals support their learners.

Thank you to every educator, every student, every school leader and partner who made this year what it was. You’re the reason any of these numbers exist in the first place.

Welcome back. We’re looking forward to another year of more students, in more classrooms, getting to have a slightly better day than they might have otherwise.
