Pattern Breaks, that keep on giving – why small well-being wins bring amazing well-being impact

By 22 January 2026No Comments

What happens when the development of well-being is no longer just something we talk about – but something we can systematically push, manage and track over time?

In 2025, more than 20,154 students created what we at WOOF call Pattern Breaks. Not as isolated good days, but as concrete and lasting changes in classroom well-being and overall mood. What is remarkable is not only the number of successes, but the fact that Pattern Breaks appear to have a long-term positive effect on classroom communities.

When development becomes concrete and measurable, a shared understanding emerges. For students. For teachers. And for the entire class.

Pattern Breaks function as milestones in long-term well-being efforts—they provide direction, motivation, and help build the belief that change is possible, both for the community and for individual students.

Students grow when they experience success, whether together or on their own—and in fact, the community can be an excellent place to practice before taking on new challenges independently.

These experiences of success can be carried forward into students’ personal and academic development.
In the Trend Report, we share what characterizes classrooms that succeed in breaking negative patterns and creating positive development.
